Alpha Chi Omega Foundation
Several years ago, the National Council of Alpha Chi Omega decided that it was time to develop a foundation that would assist members in continuing their education. The money collected for the foundation is generated from the generous contributions of alumnae and loyal supporters of Alpha Chi Omega. As a national sorority, we are fortunate to have the opportunities that the Foundation provides in scholarships and grants. It is important to be familiar with these scholarships, as you may receive one someday.
In addition to direct grants to Alpha Chi Omega members, the Foundation was extended to include financial assistance to help chapters in emergency cases. The Foundation als has a fellowship called the MARY EMMA MARSHALL FELLOWSHIP and two grants called the MARY FRANCIS GUILBERT MARIANI CONTINUING EDUCATION FUND and the MARY KUEHN POWELL FUND. There are also student loans available through Alpha Chi Omega names the FLORENCE STAIGER LONN EDUCATION FUND and the ESTELLA McFARLAND DUNKLE LOAN. Furthermore, the Foundation also provides assistance to alumnae in need.
The Alpha Chi Omega Foundation is the fund-raising and philanthropic arm of the Fraternity. Designed to benefit all Alpha Chi Omega sisgers, it spurpose is to operate as a charitable, literary, and educational non-profit organization
Gifts given annually to the Foundation provide the substance of the Foundation’s support in the following ways:
- Providing scholarships, fellowships and grants
- Providing educational fraternity programs and supporting materials
- Providing support to Alpha Chi Omega’s philanthropic endeavors
- Providing guest speakers at Alpha Chi Omega’s Leadership Seminars and Conventions
- Supporting the Fine Arts
- Keeping our Fraternity’s finances sound
- Underwriting educational articles in “The Lyre” and other publications
- Offering assistance to Alpha Chi Omega’s in their golden years.
